WyvaCon 2019 Policies

General Convention Policies

WyvaCon, INC & WyvaCon Staff reserve the right to remove anyone who is violating the rules or otherwise preventing others from their enjoyment of the convention. Persons will be removed from the premises without a refund.

When you are in convention areas, you must wear your badge. Badges must be worn and visible at all times. Convention badges are required to enter designated areas. These include but are not limited to – Programming Rooms, Outdoor Activities, Dealer Hall and Gaming Rooms.

If you lose your badge, you will need to pay to have it replaced. The cost is the same as paid at the door.

No running or other roughhousing on the Con premises except in designated areas.

Please try to keep behavior and actions family friendly during normal con hours of 9AM to 6PM on Saturday & 9AM to 4PM on Sunday.

WyvaCon considers itself to be a family friendly convention. Be respectful to others around you, Wytheville Community College property & Wytheville Meeting Center Property. Anyone considered not adhering to this rule will be subject to removal from the premises.

WyvaCon will not permit unauthorized vendors to sell anything at the convention.

Smoking areas are available in designated areas. This also includes e-cigarettes and other vaping devices.

WyvaCon, Wytheville Community College & the Wytheville Meeting Center are not responsible for items lost, missing, damaged or stolen during the convention.

We ask that parents take an active role in monitoring the events in which their children participate. Some events may not be suitable for all ages.

All local, state, and federal laws, statutes, and ordinances must be followed.

Weapons Policy

ALL weapons must be checked & approved by Con Security and designated by a colored zip-tie.

ALL prop-weapons must remain holstered or otherwise safely kept. An exception will be made for photo opps & costume contest participants.

Airsoft weapons, used as props, are acceptable if the battery pack is removed, it has no ammo and otherwise is unable to shoot & make noise.

ALL other “real” weapons are prohibited. ANY weapon that can fire a projectile is considered real. *

* An exception will be made for attendees participating in the NERF Battle.

Harassment Policy

WyvaCon, INC. supports a no tolerance harassment policy. This includes during the convention, any activities hosted by WyvaCon, INC. & any of our social media platforms.

Any violators will be removed from the convention areas & posts will be removed from online sources. Violators will be permanently banned from future conventions with no refunds.

We encourage anyone who feels harassed or threatened to make a report to WyvaCon Staff.

If you feel you are in imminent danger, please call 911.

Photography Rules

You are attending a convention.  As such, you should expect that your image might show up in pictures.

We ask that anyone taking photographs respect requests from those who do not want their picture taken.

Please do not block hallways or entryways while taking pictures.

WyvaCon Security or Staff will ask you to find a less trafficked place if you do. 

Basic Dress Code Guidlines

During the hours of the convention, 9AM to 6PM on Saturday & 9AM to 4PM on Sunday, please keep the costumes family friendly. This includes no nudity, see-through or extremely revealing clothing.

Any profanity or offensive language will not be tolerated.

All attendees must wear shoes. If your costumed character does not wear shoes, we still require you to have something covering the bottom of your feet.

Shirts must be worn during normal con hours.

Art and costumes of a truly adult nature should not be seen or worn during normal con hours.
